We’re the longest established BSAC club for Carlisle and the surrounding area.
We’re branch number 2472 of the British Sub-Aqua Club so we offer internationally recognised scuba diver & instructor qualifications and would love to meet you if you’re new to scuba diving or already qualified with any other diving agency.
Want to learn to scuba dive? Scuba diving is an adventure open to anyone aged 18 or over and Carlisle and District Divers provides high-quality BSAC training for beginners.
PADI, SSI or another agency qualified? Great! Joining our club is a great way to develop your scuba diving and to simply get out there and enjoy some great diving!
If you have always wanted to learn to dive or are simply curious about scuba diving, then a Try Dive with Carlisle and District Divers is the perfect introduction!
In the safe confines of the pool, a BSAC Instructor will introduce you to the basic skills and equipment needed to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the very first time. Try Dives cost £20.
A typical Try Dive session lasts about 45 minutes. It involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in our pool with a BSAC-qualified instructor.Book a Try Dive
An innovative professional club who work hard at keeping events interesting and productive and also providing a secure lean to for learners requiring any theoretical/practical support.
I've been a member of CADD for 4 years and have completed my ocean diver and sports diver qualifications, having never dived before joining the club. The instructors are great and tailor the lessons to each individual, going at your own pace and teaching in a style that's right for you. I received great support all through my training and continue to receive it now as a qualified diver. The club has truly opened doors to diving both in the UK and abroad.
I have been a diver for 40 years and in that time have been a member of lots of different clubs, when I was moving back to Carlisle I asked around to see if anyone could recommend a good active club to join and a number of people recommended this club. I have now been with this club for over 20 years and in that time I have been on countless trips in the UK and abroad. This is the best club I have been a member of, everyone is friendly, willing to help and participate in training and join in on dive trips, the diary is always full of training, trips and social events.
If you're wondering just what the club is like, take a look through our picture gallery; everyone is always smiling! We are not just a sports club, the social aspect of our club is one of the best things about it. Friendly, helpful and approachable; we dive, play and stick together as friends and we welcome new ones; that is our key strength.
